Aerial photography & video is an exciting and ever changing field, but the work doesn’t stop once the images have been captured. There’s a lot that happens behind the scenes to turn raw footage into a polished final product. At photos.co.uk, we’ve been doing this work for over 10 years, so we’ve learned a thing or two about the process. Here’s a look at what happens behind the scenes once the snaps & film have been captured.

Culling

The first step in the process is culling. This involves going through all the footage captured during the shoot and selecting the best shots. We look for images that are in focus, well-composed, and tell a compelling story. We discard any footage that doesn’t meet our standards, which helps us to streamline the editing process and ensure that the final product is of the highest quality.

Editing

Once we’ve culled the footage, the next step is editing. Using a variety of Adobe software. This involves using software to adjust the color, exposure, and other parameters of each image to achieve the desired look. Rarely we also use software to stabilise footage that may be shaky or uneven, more often this is used on our FPV drones. This can be a time-consuming process, but it’s essential for ensuring that the final product looks as professional and polished as possible.

Reviewing with the Team

After the initial edit is complete, we review the footage with our team! Go Team! This involves getting feedback from other experienced photographers who can provide fresh perspectives on the footage. We discuss what works well and what needs improvement, and we make any necessary changes to the edit.

Transferring to the Client for Review

Once we’re happy with the final product, we transfer the footage to the client for review. We use WeTransfer, which is a popular file-sharing service that makes it easy to send large files securely. We provide the client with a link to the footage, and they can review it at their convenience.

Final Thoughts

The behind-the-scenes work that goes into our productions is just as important as the actual capturing of the footage. At photos.co.uk, we pride ourselves on our ability to provide high-quality, professional-grade aerial photography services to our clients. We’ve been doing this work for over 10 years, and we’ve learned a lot along the way, some of our clients have been with us for 9 years! We’re confident in our ability to deliver outstanding results that exceed our clients’ expectations. If you’re looking for aerial photography services in the UK, we’d love to work with you to capture stunning footage that showcases your project or property in the best possible light.
