In this case study, we take a detailed look at the production of our latest warehouse fly-through video shot in Banbury. The goal of the video was to showcase the warehouse, emphasising its size, specifications, location, and the ease of access to nearby amenities.
Here’s a breakdown of how we executed the project from pre-shoot preparation through to final delivery.
CLIENT CONSULTATION AND QUOTATION
Before any filming took place, we held an in-depth consultation with the client to understand their requirements. The client wanted a professional fly-through video to highlight the warehouse’s key features. Once all the requirements were agreed upon, we provided a detailed quotation that outlined all production costs, including drone operators, equipment usage, and post-production editing, with specific details on animated text and sound licensing.
SHOOT DAY
Our shoot days are always planned around the best possible weather, taking full advantage of natural lighting. This is a key factor in the quality of the footage, enhancing the visual appeal and minimising the need for artificial lighting.
In collaboration with the client, we ensured that the warehouse was thoroughly prepared before filming began. This involved:
- ENSURING TIDINESS: The warehouse was organized and clutter-free to present a professional and efficient environment.
- NATURAL LIGHT ENHANCEMENT: We open all main warehouse doors to allow natural sunlight to flood the interior, providing a bright and airy atmosphere.
- INTERNAL DOORS OPENED: Internal doors were propped open to allow for uninterrupted drone flight paths, ensuring smooth transitions between different sections of the warehouse.
To capture the warehouse from various angles and perspectives, we used two different drones, each designed for specific purposes:
DRONE 1: ESTABLISHING SHOTS: A larger drone equipped with a 4K camera is used to capture wide-angle establishing shots of the warehouse exterior. This drone is used to showcase the warehouse’s location, size, and surrounding areas, providing a comprehensive view of the property.
DRONE 2: CUSTOM BUILT INDOOR DRONE: A smaller, custom-built drone designed specifically for indoor use was employed for detailed shots inside the warehouse. This drone is agile and can easily navigate through rooms, hallways and narrow spaces, offering a unique and immersive view of the interior layout.
The combination of these two drones allowed us to capture both expansive shots and detailed close-ups, creating a dynamic and engaging video.
POST PRODUCTION
After capturing the footage, the project entered the post-production phase, where the raw material was transformed into a polished video ready for the client’s use. Our post-production process included:
- VIDEO EDITING: We carefully selected the best footage from the shoot, ensuring that the video flowed smoothly and showcased all key areas of the warehouse. The editing process involved cutting together drone footage in a way that highlighted both the size of the facility and the intricate details of the interior.
- ON SCREEN ANIMATED TEXT: To enhance the video and convey essential information, we added on-screen animated text. This text highlighted key warehouse specifications such as total square footage, available facilities and unit specification
- ON SCREEN CALL OUTS: Additionally, we created callouts to highlight the warehouse’s strategic location, access routes, and proximity to transportation links and local amenities.
- MUSIC LICENSING: A suitable music track was selected to complement the tone of the video. We obtained the necessary music licensing to ensure the client could use the video for promotional purposes without legal concerns. The music was chosen to match the pacing of the video, adding energy and engagement.
REVIEW AND FINAL DELIVERY
Once the first draft of the video was complete, we sent it to the client for review. The client provided feedback on specific elements, and we made minor adjustments to ensure the final product matched their vision perfectly.
After final amendments were made, the completed video was sent to the client as a high-resolution download, ready for immediate use in their marketing campaigns.
The final product not only showcased the warehouse’s impressive features but also highlighted its strategic location, ensuring that potential clients and investors could appreciate both the physical space and the convenience of its surrounding amenities.
